Artist Pacia Sallomi paints as a way of exploring the spiritual qualities of lived life. It is an intuitive process that is informed by experience, research, and journaling. She works in series; each exploring an idea that comes to completion when the underlying questions have been resolved and/or another question becomes more compelling. Originally inspired by rond-points (or roundabouts) following a travel experience through backroads and small villages of the French countryside, Above & Below examines the experiential structure of getting from one place to another and the circular pathway as a cultural modality of disorientation and reorientation.
