Stoddard-Scheckel
Compassing Nature
March 8 through June 9, 2024 – Forest excursions are reinvented in the prints and paintings of Julia Scheckel and Beth Stoddard. Personal on-site photographs and plein air oil sketches form the basis for many-layered pieces worked out in the print shop and studio. Direct observation, sensory memory, and love for the process of artmaking itself offer the viewer shared experiences of woodland beauty.
Join Beth Stoddard on Saturday, May 4 for a nature walk to explore and gather inspiration from the forest as references for your next art piece. The nature walk is free and begins at 10am. At 12:30pm, join Beth in the art studio to take your nature walk references and create a more-developed artwork. This class is $25.
Both classes can be found and registered for on our visual arts class page - here.
