Tony Bennett has done it all in his field, but even though he is now in his 90s, he recently said in the Mirror, "believe me when I tell you, I am starting out right now." Known for star-studded collaborations that have resulted in the singer bridging generation gaps and inspiring fans and fellow artists throughout his 70-year career, he has introduced countless songs into the Great American Songbook that have since become standards for pop music. Join us in a tribute to the music of Bennett and his contemporaries, starring Broadway, film, and television star Aaron Lazar!
“Hunky Heartthrob” Lazar has starred on Broadway ten times, from his debut in The Phantom of the Opera to his breakout at Lincoln Center in The Light in the Piazza. On film, Lazar has appeared in J. Edgar, The Notorious Bettie Page, This is Where I Leave You (opposite Tina Fey), and The Wolf of Wall Street. On television, Lazar is recurring on Season 3 of FX’s The Strain and Season 2 of ABC’s Quantico. As a singer, he has performed with The New York Philharmonic at Avery Fisher Hall (opposite Neil Patrick Harris, Patti Lupone, and Stephen Colbert), The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall, The National Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center, and The English National Opera Orchestra on the West End in London.
